- 2 cups Beef broth
- 1 can Tomatoes (crushed)
- 2 lbs Coarsely ground beef (chili grind)
- 1 large Onion (finely chopped)
- 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1/2 tsp Cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp Oregano (dried)
- 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp Chili powder
- 1 tbsp Ground cumin
- Optional: chopped onions, and Green chili pepper
- 1 tsp Salt
Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
Sauté onions and garlic until softened.
Add ground beef, break it up, and cook until not pink.
Mix in chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, and cayenne pepper.
Pour in crushed tomatoes and beef broth. Bring to a simmer.
Reduce heat, and let it cook for at least an hour.
Taste and adjust seasonings. Simmer longer for thickness.
