Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Strainer
  • Mixing spoon
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of frozen corn kernels
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  • In a large pot, combine the frozen corn and water. Cook over medium heat until the corn is heated through and water has evaporated, about 7-8 minutes.
  • Reduce the heat to low and add the butter, cream, sugar, salt, and pepper to the pot. Stir well to combine.
  • Continue to cook on low heat, stirring occasionally, for another 5-7 minutes until the mixture is hot and creamy.
  • Remove from heat. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Notes

  • Use fresh corn off the cob when in season for a sweeter, more authentic flavor.
  • Constant stirring is key to prevent the cream from scorching at the bottom of the pot.
  • Add a pinch of cayenne pepper if you prefer a slight spicy kick to balance the sweetness.
  • For a richer flavor, substitute half of the butter with bacon grease.
  • Serve immediately while hot to enjoy the creamiest texture.
