Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups Bread Flour
  • 1 cup  Sugar
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons  Yeast (instant)
  • ½ teaspoon  Salt
  • ½ cup Warm milk
  • 1 cup  Poi
  • Egg
  • 1/2 cup Butter (softened)
  • 1 tsp  Food coloring (purple)

Instructions
 

  • Make the dough: In a big bowl, mix flour, sugar, and yeast. Set aside.
  • For the wet mix, blend ¼ cup milk, poi, egg, and butter. Use a paddle attachment to mix well. Add purple color, and blend.
  • Change to the dough hook. Add flour in parts. Mix well. Slowly add milk as needed. The amount varies with poi type and humidity.
  • Knead: Mix for 10 to 12 mins on medium. Wet dough. Mix till smooth, not sticky.
  • Shape: Split dough into 12 pieces. Make smooth balls.
  • Let rise: Grease a baking dish. Arrange 12 dough balls. Cover, let double. Time varies.
  • Preheat to 325F.
  • Bake: Doubled dough, bake 25-30 mins till light brown.
