For the Danish:
- 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
- 4 oz cream cheese softened
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp lemon zest
- 1/2 cup strawberry jam
- 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
For the glaze (optional):
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet.
Unfold puff pastry on floured surface. Cut into rectangles.
Mix cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and lemon zest.
Spoon cheese mixture onto center of each rectangle.
Add 1 tsp strawberry jam over cream cheese filling.
Fold edges slightly inward or create a border.
