Ingredients
  

For the Danish:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp lemon zest
  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)

For the glaze (optional):

  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet.
  • Unfold puff pastry on floured surface. Cut into rectangles.
  • Mix cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and lemon zest.
  • Spoon cheese mixture onto center of each rectangle.
  • Add 1 tsp strawberry jam over cream cheese filling.
  • Fold edges slightly inward or create a border.
  • Brush edges with egg wash for golden color.
  • Bake for 15–18 minutes or until puffed and golden.
  • Remove and cool on wire rack for 10 minutes.
  • Drizzle glaze over if desired. Serve warm or chilled.

Notes

  1. Use full-fat cream cheese for best texture.
  2. Don’t overfill pastries; they might leak.
  3. Chill puff pastry slightly before baking.
  4. Try fresh strawberries for a seasonal twist.
  5. Glaze only after cooling to avoid melting.
