Ingredients
  

  • lbs ground beef
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 can 15 oz kidney beans, drained
  • 1 can 15 oz black beans, drained
  • 1 can 15 oz diced tomatoes
  • 1 can 6 oz tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 bell pepper chopped
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet.
  • Add beef and cook until browned.
  • Transfer beef to the slow cooker.
  • Add all chopped vegetables.
  • Add drained beans and diced tomatoes.
  • Stir in tomato paste and beef broth.
  • Mix in all the spices and season well.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
  • Stir before serving and enjoy warm.

Notes

  1. Brown beef for extra flavor before slow cooking.
  2. Use lean beef to reduce grease in the chili.
  3. Add a pinch of sugar to balance acidity.
  4. Spice it up with jalapeños or hot sauce.
  5. Make it thicker by reducing broth slightly.
