  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk room temperature
  • Powdered sugar for dusting
  • Caramel sauce optional for serving

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 325°F.
  • Line pan with parchment paper.

  • Add eggs one at a time.
  • Mix in vanilla extract gently.
  • Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add dry mix to wet mix slowly.
