Ingredients
  

  • 4 slices of bread
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Butter for frying
  • Maple syrup for serving
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions
 

  • Crack eggs into a bowl.
  • Add milk, sugar, and vanilla.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon and add salt.
  • Whisk everything until well combined.
  • Heat butter in a non-stick skillet.
  • Dip bread into the egg mixture.
  • Coat both sides of the bread well.
  • Place the bread on the skillet.
  • Cook until golden brown on both sides.
  • Remove and place on a plate.
  • Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
  • Serve warm with maple syrup.

Notes

  1. Use thick bread for better texture.
  2. Don’t soak bread for too long.
  3. Cook on medium heat for even browning.
  4. Use day-old bread for best results.
  5. Add nutmeg for extra warmth in flavor.
