  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce plus more for serving

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Pork: Trim excess fat from pork shoulder.
  • Mix the Rub: Combine paprika, sugar, garlic, onion, salt, pepper, and chili.
  • Season the Meat: Rub seasoning all over the pork shoulder.
  • Add Liquids to Crock Pot: Pour broth, vinegar, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Place Pork in Crock Pot: Set pork in the liquid mixture.
  • Cook on Low: Cover and cook for 8–10 hours.
  • Shred the Pork: Remove and shred with forks on cutting board.
  • Return to Crock Pot: Add barbecue sauce and stir well.
  • Heat for 20 Minutes: Let pork soak in sauce before serving.
